CHICAGO -- For the 12th year in a row, more than a thousand people gathered for the 'Moving Day Chicago,' to raise awareness for Parkinson's Disease. "We bring together people in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana," Wes Braun from the Parkinson's Foundation Midwest Advisory Board said. Braun's first interaction with Parkinsons came in 2012, when doctors gave his mom her diagnosis. " She still works every day. she’s been in public schools for 30 years. She's a rock, her motto is that ‘everybody has something’ so she doesn’t woe is me about her diagnosis and she’s always trying to figure out ways to move so," Braun said.He and his sisters started their own team, what they call 'Moving for Mom' to rally support for her and the community."She boxes to combat the disease and stay up on the latest research by eating the right foods, so she works really hard to combat her diagnosis and disease," Braun said. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas linebacker Jaylan Ford didn't want to give BYU any hope on Saturday.Coming off the Longhorns' 31-24 win over Houston on Oct. 23, in which Houston fought back from a 21-0 deficit to tie the game in the second half, Ford said the mission this week was to sustain that dominance over four quarters and not give BYU a chance at a comeback. Instant Analysis: Shaky moments for Murphy, but solid 1st start Consider the mission accomplished."Being relentless was a point of emphasis going into this week," Ford said. He finished with a game-high 11 tackles and two quarterback hurries. "There are times we feel like we're dominant and then we'll let up, slip up ... and our goal this week was not to showcase that."For the second time in Big 12 Conference play this season on Saturday, the Longhorns didn't allow an opponent to score a touchdown, finishing with a season-high 12 tackles for loss and 10 QB hurries against BYU. GREEN BAY, Wis. — Once again, the Green Bay Packers’ offense showed up late to the party. The Packers failed to score a first-half touchdown for the fifth consecutive game en route to a 24-10 loss to the Vikings on Sunday at Lambeau Field, their fourth straight defeatAfter going three-and-out on their first four possessions, the Packers’ only first-half score came on Anders Carlson’s 30-yard field goal on the final play of the first half to pull within 10-3, but even that required a do-over.Carlson hit the right upright on his first attempt, but Minnesota’s Jay Ward lined up in the neutral zone. The second-chance field goal means the Packers have been outscored 73-9 in the first half over the past five games, instead of 73-6.“We’ve got to find out a way to convert a third down early in the game so you can run your offense,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said. “We’re running the two-minute offense for half the game. Several hundred people marched through Denver on Sunday in support of Palestinians and in condemnation of Israel’s escalating military campaign in Gaza. The rally, which began outside of the Colorado State Capitol and marched through the streets around Civic Center park, was the second large, pro-Palestinian demonstration here in the past week. Amid freezing temperatures Sunday, the crowd waved Palestinian flags and signs while chanting for a cease-fire and against the bombing campaign that’s killed thousands of civilians in the past three weeks. The march comes as Israel has stepped up its military efforts in Gaza in recent days. Communications and internet were blacked out Friday and Saturday as Israel expanded its presence in northern Gaza, clashing with militants and intensifying its bombing campaign. The Palestinian death toll has now surpassed 8,000, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. One woman at Sunday’s protest carried a sign listing the names of some of ...Broncos report card: Vance Joseph’s defense dominates as Denver puts Kansas City’s 16-game rivalry win streak on snow

Offense — BThe Broncos set out to run the football and did it well enough early in the game. Russell Wilson didn’t throw for a ton of yards and continued to hold onto the ball too long, but he made a few plays with his legs and threw first-half touchdowns to Javonte Williams and Jerry Jeudy. Then he made the biggest play of the day when he stepped up in the pocket and found Courtland Sutton in the back corner of the end zone for a 21-9 lead early in the fourth quarter. Denver finished with 153 rushing yards on 40 attempts and had the ball for nearly 34 minutes of game time. Not much of it was spectacular, but outside of one fumble the Broncos did exactly what they needed to do.Defense — A+You really can’t ask for any more out of Vance Joseph’s unit. They turned Kansas City over three times in the first half. They allowed just a pair of field goals on the Chiefs’ first three trips into the red zone. Go back to these teams’ first matchup Week 6, and Denver allowed one touchdown ...Broncos four downs: Buy or sell? After cathartic win over Chiefs, just enjoy this one for now.

Initial thoughts from Broncos’ 24-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8 at Empower Field at Mile High:Staying grounded: It was talked about ad nauseum all offseason. This was was supposed to be an offense grounded in the run game — until suddenly it wasn’t. And that’s mostly been because Sean Payton, the play-caller, hasn’t been stubborn enough to stick with it. Now that Javonte Williams appears to be at or near 100% after last season’s torn ACL, Payton has no choice. This offense is at its best when Williams carries the rock — often — with intermittent cameos from Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine. It’s what he did in Denver’s first drive of the game (seven touches, 32 yards, one TD), and it’s what helped the Broncos grind away at the clock in the second half. More of that, please.Jeudy’s revenge: The last time these two teams met, receiver Jerry Jeudy submitted a three-catch, 14-yard stink bomb after Steve Smith Sr. called hi...Heroes and Zeros from Broncos’ win over Kansas City Chiefs: Javonte Williams carries the load

Here are the heroes and zeros from the Denver Broncos’ 24-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon.HeroesJavonte Williams: It’s been two seasons but Denver’s starting running back finally found the end zone. In the first quarter, quarterback Russell Wilson faked to his right before turning left and throwing a short pass to Williams, who powered past the goal line for a 4-yard touchdown catch. It was his first touchdown since December of 2021. Williams was a bright spot on offense for the second straight week. He rushed for 85 yards on 27 carries while catching three passes for 13 receiving yards.Ja’Quan McMillian: The Broncos cornerback was active from the start. During Kansas City’s first drive of the game, he stopped running back Isiah Pacheco for a loss of four yards. With 10:09 to go in the second, he leaped in front of tight end Travis Kelce for an interception in the middle of the field. He even forced the Chiefs to settle for a field goal, tackling running back J...Nikola Jokic picks apart Chet Holmgren, Nuggets spoil Thunder’s home opener with clinical defense

OKLAHOMA CITY — Armed with another compelling rookie whose debut was a year in the making, the Thunder had extra reason to be inspired Sunday for the 2023-24 home opener. All it took was two possessions for Chet Holmgren to receive a humbling jolt and for a booming crowd to lose its edge.Nikola Jokic easily scored twice over the 7-foot-1 Holmgren in the post to start the game, and that was enough to foreshadow the rest: a 128-95 Nuggets rout guided by Jokic’s 28 points and 14 rebounds, aided by Michael Porter Jr.’s 20-point, nine-rebound contribution and punctuated by clinical defense.“We know that we have to be a team that can travel, beat the best teams in the NBA on the road, and to do that you have to bring the defense,” coach Michael Malone said. “I felt our defense tonight was outstanding across the board. … The other thing I’m proud of is, winning a championship, the one thing you worry about is thinking we can just show up this year a...Latest news
