ST. LOUIS – As he rounds out his first year in the United States Senate, Republican Eric Schmitt sat down with FOX 2’s Andy Banker this week for a one-on-one interview. The wide-ranging, 23-minute interview touched on everything from his roots in Bridgeton to his unwavering support of former President Donald Trump.Earlier this week, Trump suffered another legal blow: the Colorado Supreme Court decided that his name should be removed from the state’s 2024 presidential primary ballot. The court ruled that Trump encouraged insurrection with his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, sparking the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.During Schmitt’s 2022 Senate campaign, he held a million-dollar-plus fundraiser at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. If a school tampers with players on somebody else’s roster, they should get fined. They should be docked scholarships. Right now, people are breaking the rules and buying their way out of it … Look what’s happened all over. Look at Arizona State, Tennessee, Michigan. Nobody gets penalized for breaking the rules, so it’s very frustrating.”Poaching accusations aside, it’s been a solid fortnight for the Rams, even with the fallout from a certain reality show that dropped earlie...Ventura County man charged with murdering mother, attacking father with hammer
