SACRAMENTO — Lester Quinones has been getting plenty of praise from Warriors’ coaches for his growth since last year. His newfound confidence was on full display in the Warriors’ Summer League opener at the California Classic at Golden 1 Center on Monday night.Quinones scored 10 of the Warriors’ first 18 points in their 100-94 loss to the Sacramento Kings. He scored and moved with conviction. In the first quarter, Quinones hit a pair of 3 pointers and used his 6-foot-5 frame to work his way through contact to get to the rim. He finished the game with 26 points on 5-of-8 shooting from 3 and, on the flip side, was called for two technical fouls and seven personal fouls. The Warriors signed an un-drafted Quinones last year to a two-way contract out of Memphis — he was roommates with since-traded No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman — and grew his game as a versatile backcourt player last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors. SAN FRANCISCO — The rich tradition of Alameda baseball was on display at Oracle Park on Monday night, as Alameda High School graduate Bryan Woo was on the mound against the San Francisco Giants. The rookie right-hander for the Seattle Mariners was making just his sixth career big league start. He started the game with a 95-mph fastball blown right by Giants leadoff man LaMonte Wade Jr. It set the tone for a strong night from Woo, who fired a steady dose of mid-90s heaters to go with the occasional off-speed pitches as he tossed six innings, allowing just two runs on three hits and two walks, striking out seven. It was a masterful performance and it came with only one mistake. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Woo walked Michael Conforto to start the inning, recorded two quick outs and then went ahead 1-2 on Blake Sabol. His next pitch was a 95-mph fastball above the zone — a pitch the Giants had been swinging through all night — but this time Sabol smacked it about a...4 people killed and 2 children injured in Philadelphia shooting, police say

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Saints tight end Foster Moreau says he is in “full remission” from cancer that team doctors discovered in late March.“After a few tumultuous months, I’ve been blessed with the news that I am in full remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma!,” the 26-year-old Moreau posted on social media. “I’m so grateful to everyone who reached out to offer their love and support; our prayers were answered. From here I will continue to live my life as God intended.”Moreau’s signing with the Saints would have come with considerable fanfare in Louisiana even without the unusual and compelling circumstances surrounding his health. He grew up in New Orleans and played for LSU before the Las Vegas Raiders made him a fourth-round draft choice in 2019, when the club was based in Oakland. Now entering his fifth season, he was considering the possibility of continuing his pro football career in his home town when Dr. John Amoss, the Saints’ team physician, noticed an enlarged lymph node in Moreau’s...Un grupo de religiosas brasileras salió de Nicaragua hacia El Salvador, tras allanamiento de su sede
